Mission & Vision

Mission & Vision

Building healthier cultures before crisis begins.

The Camel Project exists to help people and communities recognize, prevent, and transform the patterns of behavior that can lead to bullying, violence, trauma, and abuse.

We believe meaningful prevention begins before a crisis.

Education. Awareness. Listening. Connection.

It begins with creating environments where people feel safe enough to ask for help.

Our Mission

Empower people to change the culture.

The Camel Project empowers individuals and organizations to recognize, prevent, and transform the culture of bullying and other harmful behaviors that can lead to violence, trauma, and abuse—through education, advocacy, and community support.

Our work focuses on helping people understand not only what harmful behavior looks like, but also the conditions that allow it to develop and continue.

We provide education and training, support prevention and intervention efforts, promote healthier ways of responding to conflict, and work with communities to build environments where people can heal and thrive.

Our Vision

A future built around healing.

The Camel Project envisions a future where healing cultures empower every child, every family, and every community to thrive free from bullying, violence, and fear.

We believe a healthier future is possible when people have the knowledge, skills, support, and courage to change the cultures around them.

That means moving beyond simply reacting to harmful behavior.

Our Vision in Action

Prevention and healing belong together.

It means building cultures where compassion and accountability can exist together; where people can speak up before situations become crises; where conflict can become an opportunity for learning; and where healing is part of prevention rather than something that happens only after harm occurs.

What We Believe

The beliefs behind the work.

Our approach is grounded in a simple idea: healthier cultures are built through the choices people make every day.

01

People are not problems to be fixed.

We don't believe in labeling people as broken. People can experience harm, make harmful choices, learn new ways of responding, and heal.

02

Prevention and healing belong together.

Preventing harm isn't only about stopping a behavior. It's also about creating the conditions that help people develop healthier relationships, stronger emotional awareness, and better ways of handling conflict.

03

Accountability and compassion can coexist.

A healing culture doesn't excuse harmful behavior. It creates space to address harm honestly while recognizing the humanity of everyone involved.

04

Everyone has a role in creating culture.

Culture isn't something that exists somewhere above us. We create it through our everyday choices, relationships, language, expectations, and responses to one another.

Our Guiding Idea

Healed people heal people.

At the heart of our work is a simple belief:

When individuals have the opportunity to understand their experiences, develop healthier ways of responding, and heal from harm, they can become part of creating healthier families, schools, organizations, and communities.

That is the culture we are working to build.

Healing people.
Healthy relationships.
Stronger communities.
Brighter futures.

Changing the Culture Before It Becomes a Tragedy.

Every conversation is an opportunity to begin. Every relationship is an opportunity to build connection. And every community has an opportunity to create something healthier.
