Our Mission
Empower individuals and organizations to recognize, prevent, and transform the culture of bullying and other harmful behaviors that lead to violence, trauma, and abuse through education, advocacy, and community support.
The Camel Project equips schools, families, and communities with the knowledge, tools, and support to recognize, prevent, and transform bullying and other harmful behaviors before they become violence, trauma, or tragedy. Together, we're building healing cultures where every person can thrive.
The Camel Project believes lasting change begins long before violence occurs. Through education, restorative practices, advocacy, and community partnerships, we help people build healing cultures where every individual feels safe, valued, and empowered.

Programs Within Operation Safe Lives Changing culture takes more than a single program. Operation Safe Lives brings together programs and activities designed to help people learn, connect, develop healthier responses, and create safer communities. The Camel Project works with individuals, schools, organizations, and communities to recognize harmful patterns, build healthier relationships, and create cultures where people can thrive. Our Programs Four pathways. One purpose. Each program approaches prevention from a different direction, but all are connected by the same commitment to healthier cultures. ♥ 01 Community Outreach Building awareness and connection within the communities we serve. Community Outreach Change begins when people come together. The Camel Project believes that healthier communities are built through connection, education, awareness, and a willingness to support one another. Community Outreach is one of the programs through which Operation Safe Lives brings the message of prevention, awareness, and healing beyond the classroom and into the communities where people live, work, learn, and connect. Building Connections Bullying and other harmful behaviors do not exist in isolation. They affect families, schools, workplaces, and entire communities. Addressing those behaviors requires more than responding to individual incidents. It requires people working together to understand the culture around them and identify opportunities for positive change. Through community outreach, The Camel Project creates opportunities for conversation, education, collaboration, and connection. What We Do Our outreach efforts can connect individuals and organizations with education, prevention resources, community programs, and opportunities to become part of the solution. 01 Promote Awareness Promote awareness of bullying and harmful behaviors. 02 Connect People Connect people with prevention education and resources. 03 Build Relationships Encourage positive relationships and community engagement. 04 Start Conversations Support conversations about healthy communication and conflict. 05 Create Partnerships Build partnerships with organizations and community members. Everyone Has a Role Creating a healthier culture isn't the responsibility of one person, one school, or one organization. Parents, educators, students, employers, community leaders, organizations, and neighbors all have opportunities to influence the environments around them. Sometimes change begins with something as simple as recognizing a problem, starting a conversation, listening to someone who needs support, or choosing to respond differently. The Bigger Picture Part of a Bigger Picture Community Outreach is one part of The Camel Project's broader approach to creating healthier cultures through Operation Safe Lives. Training & Workshops Understanding creates the foundation for change. The Camel Project provides education and training designed to help adults recognize bullying and other harmful behaviors, respond effectively, and create environments where people feel safer, supported, and heard. Training & Workshops is one of the programs through which Operation Safe Lives brings prevention education and practical response skills to schools, organizations, workplaces, and communities. Our approach goes beyond identifying bullying. We help participants understand the patterns behind harmful behavior and develop practical ways to respond without creating additional trauma. Building Skills Before a Crisis Prevention is most effective when people know what to look for and understand what they can do before a situation becomes a crisis. Our training helps adults develop the awareness and confidence to recognize warning signs, understand the impact of their responses, and intervene in ways that support safety and dignity. The goal isn't simply to teach people what bullying looks like. It is to help them understand how their words, behaviors, and decisions can influence the culture around them. Certified Prevention Specialist Certified Prevention Specialist Training The Camel Project's Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) Bullying Prevention Training Manual provides a foundation for training adults to recognize bullying and de-escalate disputes without causing secondary trauma. The training focuses on practical awareness and response skills that adults can use in schools, organizations, and communities. 88% rated the CPS trainingExcellent A Four-Step Approach Deconstructing the Culture of Bullying Understanding bullying requires looking beyond the individual incident and examining the culture in which harmful behavior develops. The Camel Project's Deconstructing the Culture of Bullying program uses four steps: 01 Discover Recognize what is happening and become aware of the behaviors, relationships, and circumstances involved. 02 Define Identify the patterns, needs, and challenges that are contributing to the situation. 03 Develop Build healthier responses, relationships, and strategies for addressing the problem. 04 Defend Protect and strengthen the healthier culture that has been created. Who We Train Knowledge That Travels With You Training can be adapted for adults working with young people as well as organizations and community groups seeking to strengthen their approach to bullying prevention and conflict. The emphasis is on giving adults practical knowledge they can carry back into their schools, workplaces, organizations, and communities. From Awareness to Action Building Healthier Responses Training is one part of The Camel Project's larger commitment to changing culture before it becomes a tragedy. The work is guided by the Healing Culture Framework™, which helps people move from awareness and understanding toward healthier responses and stronger cultures. When adults understand what they are seeing, know how to respond, and recognize the impact of their own behavior, they are better positioned to create environments where people can learn, heal, and thrive. HEALING HUB Healing is part of prevention. The Camel Project believes that preventing harm and supporting healing are connected. People who experience bullying, conflict, trauma, or other harmful environments need opportunities to feel heard, supported, and connected. The Healing Hub represents a place—physical, virtual, or community-based—where those connections can begin. It is one of the programs through which Operation Safe Lives puts prevention, healing, and community support into action. 01 A Place to Connect Healing doesn't always begin with an answer. Sometimes it begins with having a safe place to talk, someone willing to listen, or an opportunity to connect with people who understand. The Healing Hub is built around that idea: creating supportive environments where people can find connection, education, encouragement, and pathways toward healthier relationships and communities. 02 Healing Without Judgment We believe people should be able to acknowledge what they are experiencing without being defined by it. A person can experience harm without being broken. A person can make a harmful choice without being permanently defined by that choice. And a community can experience conflict without allowing that conflict to become its identity. Healing creates an opportunity to understand what happened, recognize its impact, and begin developing healthier ways forward. 03 Connection, Education, and Support The Healing Hub can serve as a connection point for the broader work of The Camel Project. Education and prevention resources. Opportunities for conversation and connection. Community support and engagement. Activities that encourage healthy expression and relationships. Connections to appropriate community resources when additional support is needed. 04 Healing Is Not the Absence of Accountability A healing culture does not mean ignoring harmful behavior or avoiding difficult conversations. Healing requires honesty. It requires recognizing harm, understanding its impact, taking responsibility, and developing healthier ways of responding. Compassion and accountability can exist together. THE BIGGER PICTURE Part of the Healing Culture Framework™ The Healing Hub reflects the same philosophy that guides The Camel Project's broader approach to prevention: 01 Discover what is happening. 02 Define the patterns, needs, and challenges. 03 Develop healthier responses and relationships. 04 Defend the healthier culture we create together. Healing is not simply something that happens after harm. It can be part of preventing the next harmful cycle. Behavior Intelligence™ Understand behavior. Change the response. Change the culture. Behavior Intelligence™ is an approach to understanding what people communicate through their words, actions, reactions, and patterns of behavior. The goal is not to label people or determine what is "wrong" with them. It is to develop greater awareness of what is happening so that individuals and organizations can respond with intention rather than simply reacting to the behavior in front of them.
